David, I much appreciate this thoughtful response. That reference to the man caught up in the third heaven whether in the body or not is most interesting. I admit never having really focused on that before, but given current study and interest in mystics of the Christian and eastern kind, this is quite interesting. Not sure what you think, was Paul referencing himself? I can see it going either way given the context. Certainly, the conversion experience on the road to Damascus can be interpreted as a mystical experience and he seems to claim it as such, but this would be an additional one if it was indeed his experience. If not, it certainly shows Paul was accepting of the report of the mystic he refers to.
