I agree up to a point Shirley. We certainly have predispositions to believe certain things, but those can be overcome by evidence. As one philosopher pointed out, the more our beliefs and our predispositions to those belief are central to our whole way of thinking the harder it is to change and the more contrary evidence is needed. These are worldview issues on which we base our thoughts, lives and actions. I admit to have a strong predisposition to the Christian story as I understand it. That means the evidence that many see undermining it has not been convincing to me. But, I remain open as the question of truth is all important.
