I do understand the distinction you are making, but it raises a question. If we were to incline toward the idea of a superintelligence, even one that has created the simulation we find ourselves in, and therefore created the entire reality of a universe 90 billion light years or so in scope with all its matter exquisitely tuned to enable life and giving us simulants (is that a new word) a sense of self-awareness and the ability to comprehend to some degree the marvelous world the superintelligence created, would we be inclined to think this intelligence pretty great, far beyond us, worthy of our appreciation, thoughts of honor, glorious even, maybe even owed our worship? If so, and I think we would, what is the difference between calling this entity a superintelligence or calling it god?
