I have long enjoyed your philosophical analysis, but I'm not quite sure you have Donald Hoffman right here. The problem seems to be his comment about the ancient spiritual traditions and how they may be reflected in light of current science.
I'm not sure if you are familiar with the concept of dual aspect monism, particularly as explored by Harald Atmanspacher. I have found it absolutely fascinating in large part because of how a number of the most prominent pioneering quantum physicists have come to conclusions that are strangely familiar from the ancient Greeks, through Spinoza, eastern thinking like Patanjali and the Vedanta, all the way to include orthodox Christians such as Sir Arthur Eddington and Sir John Polkinghorne. I have an extended series on this which I think would provide a different twist to Hoffman's thinking, including his connection of cosmic realism to spiritual traditions.
