If interested also look at the posts on Bohm-Hiley's The Undivided Universe. It may be more in line with Eastern philosophy, but they posit an undivided universe beginning with what they call quantum potential, a kind of universal field that fills the universe. it contains all potential actions of particles but the actual actions are driven by active information which is selected from the potential. This explains entanglement. But, at bottom what is this quantum potential or univeral field? Eddington and Wheeler pointed to the same thing. Wheeler called it pre-geometry, Eddington called it spirit, and Pauli and Jung referred to it as a placeholder for the divine. I link it to the Spirit which hovered over chaos in Genesis and by which all things emerge including mind and matter. I'm not sure if that is proximate or ultimate cause which is why I raised the question.
