If it is ignorance and disinformation it comes from some pretty impressive sources, like John Wheeler, John von Neumann, Eugene Wigner, Henry Stapp and Anton Zeilinger. Here's what the Fourteenth Dalai Lama said about his conversation with physicist Zeilinger: "When they [physicists] are in the laboratory and play around with things, they are realists...However the moment they switch into philosophical discussion and ask them about the foundation of quantum mechanics, most would say that nothing exists without the apparatus defining it." You might say from this that it is the apparatus in relationship with the particle that matters, but the above mentioned experts note that it is the choice a mind makes about the measurement and set up of apparatus that is the crucial factor. So, I think I stand on pretty solid ground, along with the likes of Kastrup and the Dalai Lama.
