It looks like you have been trying to figure it out as well. I've been reading Sir Arthur Eddington's book based on his Gifford lectures and he has some interesting things to say along these line. He wrote that in like 1930 or something, when quantum physics was brand new, but he said 1927 was perhaps one of the most momentous years in science history because causality was broken, in very much the same way you describe.
