Mister G, a question. I don't know about Dr. Gomez-Marin's religious views, but if he held them would that mean that for you what he has to say has no value? You say that materialism is not a dogma but I would suggest it is not at all limited to quantum field theory and GR. Take neuroscience and the study of consciousness. Materialism says that there can be no possibility for an understanding of consciousness other than through the action of matter and forces. In psychology, the adherence to materialism first led to behaviorism and now to the Computational Model of the mind. What I have written about in the past and what this author is (loudly) saying is that holding this kind of dogma and enforcing it vigorously against any non-dogma driven ideas is limiting and even dangerous.
