Substantial evidence may not be proof, but no one can deny that there is substantial evidence. As for a "spiritualized" version of the resurrection as many have tried, this constitutes throwing the baby out. A physical resurrection is essential to the faith, or Paul was right that we are of all people to be the most pitied.
