Prudence, this is very interesting and worthy of deeper contemplation and response. One thing I will note immediately that you have pre-empted one of the core concepts involving the change in Christianity that I have identified and wish to explore: pluralism. Totally agree that more than a secular world, we live in a very pluralistic world when it comes to spiritual beliefs and practices, what Charles Taylor intriguingly called a "nova" of beliefs. One thing I have learned from my over two years now of reading and writing on Medium that my understanding of what needs to be considered in coming to a full appreciation of God and his role in this cosmos needs to be more open. And therefore I think that a reformed Christianity must accept and understand this pluralism or nova. How that is done with the traditional teaching of Jesus that "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life, no one comes to the Father but by me" presents a challenge, but not an insurmountable one. Thanks again for your thoughts here.
