Quick reply to all three of these questions. I am certainly working toward a post, or probably a series, comparing traditional (pre-Enlightenment) Chrisitian thought and Eastern religion or mysticism as they both relate to our discussions about the failure of physicalism. To that end, I have been reading Fox's book on Meister Eckhart and finding much that is useful, particularly his bringing together Eckhart and Carl Jung. Jung was profoundly influenced by Eckhart, possibly the only Christian who had that kind of influence on him. But I am finding too much in Fox that appears to be to be twisting Eckharts teachings to support Fox's very clear agenda regarding deep ecology, deep femininism, etc., There is much of value but I want to read some other less obviously agenda-driven writers about the mystics as well as more from the mystics like Eckhart themselves. I do believe that while there is much more cross over between east and west than most Christians think or thought (including me), I think that the greatest linkages are going to be found in the thoughts of the Christian mystics.
