I commented previously on the strong rebuttal offered by atheist Benjamin Cain against the non-evangelical Christian writer Dan Foster.

It’s not a debate or match because Foster does not rise to the bait offered by Cain. Instead one gets the sense that Cain would like nothing more than for Foster to respond in kind instead of leaving him punching at thin air, or, more accurately, a strawman.

In my previous assessment I offered Mr. Cain some advice about how he could be more effective in presenting his atheist position by dropping the arrogance, disdain and disrespect. I suspect he didn’t read my comments and if he did, his response is to double down on the vitriol he throws at Mr. Foster.

Watching what I call evangelical or even fundamentalist atheists at work is intriguing to me. Perhaps wishing to be held in the regard of a Richard Dawkins or Sam Harris, Cain shows a near obsession with Christianity and seems to believe he can rid the world of this horrid and diseased faith by sure force of his anger and animosity. But, it only raises the question: why so angry? Why so bothered by the poor saps who continue to hold to a belief that in his view only shows how incredibly stupid they are? Why waste the time? Aren’t there better things to do with an obviously gifted mind?
