Thanks Blaine, the reference is Mark 10:18. It seems to me a reasonable understanding of that is not that Jesus was rejecting the man's attribution of Jesus' qualities, but was actually somewhat indirectly affirming that he was indeed divine. This is similar to the Pharisees complaining that Jesus told someone their sins were forgiven. They said only God can forgive sins. See Mark 2:7. Jesus' answer was to ask them if it was easier to forgive sins than to perform the healing miracles he did in full view of them and the community. His point was clear: only God can perform these miracles and only God can forgive sins.
