Thanks DG, I've actually written a number of posts about the fifth dimension and the scientists past and present who are considering this possibility. My main source is Tim Andersen and his posts on this on Medium. Another is Harvard physicist Lisa Randall. Andersen suggests, as you do here, that another dimension of time would be without entropy, which has all kinds of interesting implications. Past, Present and Future would have very different meanings or no meaning at all.
