Thanks Ez, it seems awareness is one important part of consciousness, not sure it covers the whole phenomena. There is a lot of talk and study of consciousness in the higher animals, and it seems a case can be made for a certainly level of awareness. In my view, only humans have consciousness as it is normally understood.
