Thanks for responding. Could you provide evidence for your statement that few scientists believe in God? I have reviewed a number of different surveys which generally agree that a majority believe in some form of God or higher power, such as this one from Pew:
“According to the poll, just over half of scientists (51%) believe in some form of deity or higher power; specifically, 33% of scientists say they believe in God, while 18% believe in a universal spirit or higher power. By contrast, 95% of Americans believe in some form of deity or higher power, according to a survey of the general public conducted by the Pew Research Center in July 2006.”
Others have shown higher numbers such as in Dr. Francis Collins’ book The Language of God. Most surveys also show that younger scientists track a bit higher on beliefs than younger ones.
“Utter nonsense” is a pretty strong statement. Atheists and non-atheists alike agree on the facts of fine tuning. These include Stephen Hawking, Paul Davies and almost every other scientist or philosopher. Again, if you have credible sources to support your strong statement I’d be most interested in seeing them. Fine tuning seems to be a very well established fact, it is the reasons for it that is very much in dispute.
