Thanks for the thoughtful response Daniel. I'm not sure if you are interested in going further into this question of why I think beleiving in the Abrahamic God is still viable but I am writing a series on these beliefs now including what I consider bad and ugly about them. In one of my recent posts I did note that the writers of the Bible were not granted scientific knowledge that transcended their time and place but that did not prevent them from conveying some critical truths that have bearing on scientific questions. As to the behavior of adherents, I put that in the Ugly category. But, do you think the behavior of followers of any faith or belief system including atheism can avoid the ugly category?
