Thanks Jan-Albert (sound Dutch, I am second generation Dutch my father immigrating in 1948). I am only a little family with those terms, apophatic I believe referring to negative theology, as in what we cannot say or deny about God and cataphatic in the affirmative statements about God. Is that right? I understand the point in that it is somewhat safer in terms of truth to stick to apophatic. However, it seems to leave a lot left unsaid, so I guess based on my limited knowledge I would say both are necessary, at least for me.
