Thanks Roger, I have not heard of homeopathic proving but it sounds like the placebo effect to me. I've written on that before in light of consciousness and the mind over matter question. The book that best captured this along with numerous other phenomena that undermines a physicalist or materialist view of the mind is "Irreducible Mind" by psychologists from U of Virginia. I think you will find this interesting and the placebo effect well documented. Maybe the proving and placebo effect are not the same, and if so, I'd like to find out more.
