That certainly could be Ptera, but I take it you are a physicist or scientist of some kind. I may be wrong, but I think if you ask members of the general public, most who could care less about these kinds of things, they would consider particles or the constituents of atoms to be hard and pointlike in all phases. I'll ask around.
