You are right about the evidence and it was reading Irreducible Mind from U of Virginia psychologists that got me quite interested in this topic. I think you are right about the need to find a mechanism before scientists can accept an idea for which no current mechanism exists. But, I still think that is wrongheaded. After all, it was not knowing the mechanisms about lightning or planetary movements that prompted the investigations that led to great discoveries. Scientists need to keep looking for a mechanism rather than denying phenomena exist if no mechanism is known.
